Code Blue was founded by Joe Augeri and Bill Howland in 1993. Various singers, players and drummers have joined Bill and Joe over the years. We've played bars, birthdays, weddings and parties in Central Texas, San Diego and Dallas for the past 15 years with the same enthusiasm for classic rock. One thing that sets the band apart is 2 and 3 part vocal harmonies that sound 'just like' or better than the record. We still love the music and it shows in our performances.
Joe Augeri
Joe is a firefighter in Austin and lives in Gatesville with his wife and 2 daughters. Joe has been playing and singing most of his life. He is the heart of the band playing rhythm and lead guitar and singing lead and backup. Joe arranges most of the music, helps with the PA and lights and has a beautiful voice. Besides fighting fires and singing, Joe is very involved with his daughters' softball. He coaches, organizes teams and spends much of his free time practicing with the girls.
Bill Howland
Bill grew up in Austin and is still playing many of the songs he learned as a youngster. Over the years Bill has played many different instruments and many genres of music. He feels that classic rock songs are some of the best music ever written. Bill keeps the rhythm going on the bass, sings lead and backup and helps run the PA and lights. He is an Allergist in Austin and stays busy much of the year treating sneezing and wheezing. Bill is married with 2 adult children and lives near his boyhood home in Northwest Hills.
John Robinson
John is originally from South Texas and has been playing music most of his life. He's played in many bands and is accomplished on both the guitar and keyboards. John sings backup and leads, runs the PA and adds visual energy on stage. He is a 'high G' addict (loves roller coasters) and lives in Pflugerville with his wife and three children. John works for Apple providing tech support (anyone have questions about their iPhone?).
Rachel McPherson
Rachel is a video editor (works on major films) and most recently lived in New York City before moving to Austin. Code Blue is her first rock band though she's performed on the stage and in vocal ensembles most of her life. She has an extraordinary voice and great stage presence. Rachel is single (sorry guys she has a boyfriend) and lives in South Austin.
Rachel Fuhrer
Rachel is the newest member of the band and adds great energy and steady rhythm on the drums. She's been playing drums since she could walk and teaches drums in Dripping Springs. Rachel recently moved to Austin from Boston and is really enjoying the local music scene. She's got some outstanding classic drum kits which sound great. She has an uncanny ability to play drum parts 'just like the record'.
